I cannot wait to get back to Winthrop. While I enjoy my job here at the College of Charleston (and the nice paychecks), I cannot stand working in a building that has no outside sunlight. Yea, it’s a cool place; I get to work with a lot of cool things, but I would much rather be working in a place that is, well… sunlighty. (for lack of a better term)
Also, this morning was a close call… Parking in downtown Charleston is a premium – and I’m surely not going to pay $250 for a parking spot. So I park about a block and a half down the street at the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul. Although I’m not a member of the church, I used to attend youth group there, and I still have my “Cathedral” sticker. However, this morning, just as I was leaving the parking lot, the Dean (equivalent to the head Priest, I think) pulls in the lot to his space…and I high-tailed it out of there. You see, long story short, the youth group that I used to go to is no longer there – and I’m sure there is some hostility between former members of the youth group to leaders of that church. While I understand the circumstances surrounding the youth minister’s departure (budget), others in the youth group do not. And I don’t want to be stuck in the middle of this by seeing the Dean as I go park in one of his parking spaces that I didn’t ask for. So that being said, I’m now even more ready to go back to school. My last day working at CofC is this Friday. Here’s what I’m looking forward to this upcoming semester: - Mr. Simmons and Mr. Clossman living next door
- Using an Iron that works!
- The Andrew Kiel and Seth Clossman Show returning to the air!
- Tech. stuff for Winthrop’s FCA at the Connection on Tuesday nights at 9. (Nice plug, huh?)
- Joining FBC Rock Hill.
- (slowly) Migrating WINR to broadcasting 24/7 (We’ll start just on weekends, with special programming on Sunday mornings, and then go from there.)
- Working at WRHI
- Touring prospective students and parents around Winthrop as an Ambassador.
- Pestering Ms. Debbie in the Alumni office.
That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there's more! |
