Day 35 of Summer Break (Yes, I'm counting) Print E-mail

Well...hello there... I thought I'd post a few notes about my summer thus far. Seth will post his as soon as he gets around to confirming the admin e-mail. As many of you Winthrop folks know, Winthrop e-mail is about 30 to 45 minutes slow. Why? Maybe Tony D. likes to read our mail. If that's the case, Tony, please don't tell my parents that I overdrafted by $0.93 (yes, nintey-three cents) last week before Pay Day. (That will be our little secret.) Anyways, I digress.

After a short battle with anti-homesickness (as in I really wanted to go back up to Winthrop), things are back to...well...normal. I'm not going to bore you with a day to day account of what I've done; to be honest I can't even tell you what I had for lunch yesterday, much less what I did 3 weeks ago. So here goes...

First weekend of Summer break, Mr. Clossman (Seth and Aaron), Mr. Simmons and Mr. Rast came down to come visit Seacoast Church. We went to the service, to Moes, and then to Clear Channel, where my guests were thrown out by one of my superiors. (see photo) Mr. Simmons quickly sped (pun intended) up to Rockfish where he will spend the majority of his summer; I think we might go and see him sometime.

Fast forward... In addition to working back at Clear Channel (I have a show Sunday afternoons on WALC-FM and evenings on WXLY-FM), I applied for, interivewed, and promptly started a new job at the College of Charleston in their IT dept. It's a cool job, however I don't yet have a permanent desk, which is kinda annoying because I feel like a gypsy going from desk to desk, to desk. I am sick and tired of configuring my Outlook e-mail!!!!!!!! (it takes about 10 minutes to set up, and after the fourth time it gets really old.)

Mr. Clossman and his friend John visited again a few weeks ago... This time I successfully sneaked them into Clear Channel... But I called my superior first (I saw her car in the parking lot and called her office asking if Seth and John could come), and she seemed to forget that just a few weeks before I had brought 5 people in the building (where she yelled at me afterwards).

My job at CofC is fun, I like being downtown during the day, and the folks at work are really cool. Ed and his new roommates (Nate, Alex, and Hagood) live a block from my office (it's more like a fortress, with the 18-inch thick outer walls -- quick history: it was built by BellSouth in the 1960s to safely house and guard the telecommunications system for Charleston; and the powers the be at the College of Charleston decided it would be a great place for people to work, seeing as there are no windows...) so it's cool.

Since we don't have Comedy Central on our cable package at home, I've decided that I will start going to Clear Channel Monday through Thursday nights at 11:30 to watch The Colbert Report. I misss that show, and am having withdrawls, even after 35 days.

Well...that about sums it up for now... Seth said he will post his blog here shortly, which includes details on his recent relationship accomplishments.

And while we're on this subject... I will include the fact that I, too, am single and looking...
Any Female between the ages of 17 (yes this is South Carolina) and 22 (exceptions can be made) are more than welcome to give me a call, shoot me an IM, or come visit me at work...
[Certain restrictions apply, see Kiel for details]
Cell and SN are on Facebook, work address is 81 St. Phillips Street, 5th Floor, Charleston, SC 29403... The visit-me-at-work thing would be especially great... I can show you the roof and we can have a picnic upstairs. (However, the female in question must like peanut butter and jelly, because I haven't yet mastered cooking burgers on top of the roof.)
