Today is a very special day, for two reasons: First, 73 years ago today, President Franklin D. Roosevelt (also known as FDR), as a measure to quickly generate government revenue, enacted the Beer and Wine revenue tax. This was one of his first measures (right after closing all the banks) to put a halt to the depression that quickly ensued in his First Hundred days in office. Just thoguht I'd also share.
Today is also my birthday. My mom gave birth to me 19 years ago today. Gifts can be sent to Andrew Kiel, c/o WINR, 231 Johnson Hall, Rock Hill, SC 29733. Checks are gladly accepted.
And now back to important things...on tonight's show, we had Molly Friddle who talked about the Ready to Chevy promotion she's working on with Bush Chevrolet here in Rock Hill. Seth brought Courtney Ashley and her friend Vanessa Hill on the show... Courtney wasn't that happy about talking on the mic, but Vanessa enjoyed dicussing various political topics which I can't seem to recall at this point in time.
We covered everyone's spring break plans... Seth went to Dallas on a Mission Trip, Zach was at home sick with a flu-like virus for most of the week, and I spent a few days down in Florida on a SCUBA diving trip. Zach enjoyed watching reruns of various daytime soaps. Kidding.
Towards the end of the show, Jeremy stopped by early and gave us EXCLUSIVE copies of The Johnsonian where we pointed out several interesting pieces, such as the article about professors not liking RateMyProfessors.Com, the extra-long police blotter, and an angry Winthrop parent's open letter to President DiGiorgio.
That's all for now. Until next time....See ya! |
